Wolf Pack (Inside Soul Mates) Reviews

4 out of 5 Stars Nomis Paranormal Palace

Soul Mates is a quick read that I devoured in no time. It has two short, steamy paranormal stories in it that I really enjoyed. The first story, Wolf Pack, is by Ashley Nemer. The Passion between the characters was hot in the beginning and due to a misunderstanding, the couple were separated, only to cross paths years later. I’ve read Ashley’s work before and I found this story to be a great, easy read.
The second story is Souls Caught Fire by L.S. Broomfield. It is the first time I have read her work and I was quickly drawn into the plot. The characters in this story are not meant to be together, but there is no denying the chemistry between them. There were lots of sparks and amazing passion in the bedroom. If you are into a quick erotic read, I highly recommend this book!!

A heartfelt, thought provoking journey of the soul Whispers in the Dark was a beautiful collection of the emotions of three talented women. As you read their words you can feel, hear, and almost taste their passion, pain, and joy. Each poem tugs at the heart strings and resonates deep inside. No matter the subject matter of the poem you can find some echoing emotion rise up, whether familiar and comforting or even the feeling of shared pain, letting you know you are not alone in your feelings of loss and loneliness. All poetry should latch onto something in the reader, evoking introspection one's life and inner most feelings. Whispers in the Dark will evoke all that and more, whispering to you of all that each of member of the human race feels but is afraid to let out.

It could stand alone as a mystery but made it better was how she included the romance element. I look forward to more from this series!

Dawn Latta's review  Apr 04, 13  4 of 5 stars  Read in April, 2013
If you love a good crime mystery then you should definitely check out Maverick Touch: The Cat by Ashley Nemer. I found certain parts of the book could have been an episode of Dexter, which by the way, is my favorite television series. I found myself drawn to the characters. I really enjoyed Nadia's quick wit and daring nature. I love how it starts with something so simple as buying a kitten and turns into such a dangerous adventure for her. If I had anything negative to say it would be simply that the story seemed to move a bit too fast. I like to really get to know the characters and I felt like the book was too short for me to do this. I understand that this is a start to a series, and I intend to keep reading and maybe then I will get to know the characters a little more. I can’t wait to see what mischief Nadia finds in Houston. I give this book 4 out of 5 stars simply because it was too short for the amount of characters that were introduced, but overall it is a fun, enjoyable read.

Not a paranormal, not a love story in the true sense of the word, not even a romance really, but a damn good read. An edge of the seat thriller that keeps you turning the page begging for more and an ending that makes you sigh . Great book, my only complaint is that is was too short

A great mystery without all the usual explicit content that make up today’s mystery genre. A return to a time when the mystery was more in the readers mind rather than having it spoon fed to them and their attention retained by the more salacious details of intimate human relationships. The focus on family unity and love was a wonderful balance to the intrigue bubbling under the surface, giving a solid basis for the heroine Nadia’s convictions. Nadia was an easy loving character to her family while being engaging and still carrying off the tough girl image. Her easy acceptance of her best friend Gabe’s lifestyle choice and the loving support she showed was a great message to give the reader, as well as avoiding the typical portrayal of a same sex couple. It was a truer portrayal than most of the ones I have seen currently on television without being awkward or appearing demeaning, something Hollywood could take some lessons in. Nadia’s relationship with Mr. A was the best part, the way they came together while not the typical beginning to a relationship carried the same heart pounding nervousness and daring that many first dates carry. This is a relationship I wouldn’t mind seeing developed further and has the potential to be one of the all-time great couples known for their interactions, not to mention a great first encounter. A wonderful read, I loved it, and would recommend to family and friends without hesitation.

InD'Tale Magazine gives Maverick Touch a 4 Star Review!

's review

Read in July, 2013

Hello everyone, this is Ashley Nemer ‘s father writing my first book review. As a matter of fact, “Maverick Touch: The Cat” is the first book I have read cover to cover in 30 years. Ashley first wrote “Blood Purple”, a book about vampires, but I just couldn’t bring myself to read that even though my daughter wrote it. I just have no interest in that topic. So last week while on the beach in Cancun, I read her murder mystery “Maverick Touch”.

I am proud to say, I truly enjoyed it. Parts of it made me laugh, because I saw my daughter's personality in the Nadia character. As I sat in the sun with my Tequila Sunrise (the hotels drink of the day), chapters 1-6 began to set everything up nicely. By the time I finished the seventh chapter, I thought, wow, my daughter has talent. From that point on, all I could think about is how well she developed the story line and how entertained I was throughout the book.

I look forward to more “Maverick” books and encourage Ashley to continue writing mysteries. Rick Castle watch out, Ashley Nemer may have found her niche.

Bud's Christmas Wish 4.5 Stars - Crown of Excellence
Lucy O'Toole is leaving her sorrow in New Orleans and going to Ireland. It has been two months since her parents were tragically killed at Christmas, and her only remaining family are her elderly, grandparents. Two years later, Lucy is working at the local tavern, living with her grandmum Hannah, her granddad having also passed on. Lucy doesn't have any friends, and her grandmum despairs of her ever marrying. Bud Doran keeps visiting Lucy at the tavern, but he is just a friend. He asks Lucy out, but she refuses. Since the accident, she can't bring herself to be carefree again so chooses to focus only on her grandmum. Christmas is coming, however, and Bud decides to try one more time. She can't turn him down for Christmas can she? Lucy says yes, but only if her grandmum can come too. Bud agrees, but Hannah has other plans. A longstanding pact between the Doran's and the O'Toole's has Bud and Lucy promised to each other. Hannah believes Bud and Lucy are destined to be together. How Bud proceeds to win Lucy's heart and show her his devotion makes for a heartwarming romance story. Ashley Nemer gives readers a wonderful snapshot of life in Ireland, her dialect with the Irish inflections adds a special flavor to this delightful tale! Given that "Bud's Christmas Wish" is a short story, it moves along fairly quickly, leaving some gaps in the narrative that leave the reader guessing. After watching the wonderful back and forth, the story's end delightfully brings the lovers together, and sets up a great opening for a sequel!

Ashley Nemer did it again with her latest romance, Bud Christmas Wish published by a new publisher XoXo Publishing.com. I really enjoyed this novel by Ashley Nemer it's a wonderful sweet romance that just wants to you keep on dreaming after reading it. I added it to my "forever keeper" books section on my Kindle. Thank you Ashley for making me believer in sweet romances again.
SasssyPoohBear on Jan 14, 2013 This book was a sweet, well written book. The characters were believable. The only thing that would have made this book better, was if it was longer, but still it was a great read and I look forward to more books by this author.

Another great book from Ashley. This book was a quick read and I loved the story. Bud knew what he wanted and finally got Lucy to be his. And what a great first date. *sighs* A perfect one, watching the sun rise in a hot air balloon. Another great read. Well done Ash.

This was the first book I had the pleasure of reading by Ashley! I'm a die hard reader and always swore I'd never read an e-book. But, how can you resist? It's a sweet story about love and fate. I could connect with the main character in the book, a young lady who even as an adult was orphaned and left to be with family. She had to learn to live and love again. Ashley grabs the readers hearts and pulls you in with the sweet promise of love in the end. I can NOT wait to read another one of her books! I do believe all new Ashley books books are on my wish list!

Another Fabulous Book from Ashley Nemer... I Couldn't Have Enjoyed This Book Any More Than I Did... I Was Immediately Drawn to the Main Character, Lucy and Into Her Life as She Made the Transition from One Country to Another... Following Along Her Fast Paced Journey to Romance Filled Me with Warmth and Made Me Smile the Entire Time... I Can't Wait to See Another Installment Involving These Characters and to See Where Ashley Takes Them as They Embark on Their Life Together... This Book is a MUST READ in My Opinion and I Will Certainly be Recommending it To Everyone I Can...

Bud’s Christmas Wish by Ashley Nemer is a sweet and short holiday story. It is based around Lucy who has moved from America to Ireland to be with her aging grandmother. Lucy meets Bud, Bud falls in love with her, and after their first date, she falls in love with him too. The story was a little far-fetched to me but it was cute and a quick read.

Blood Yellow Reviews

5.0 out of 5 stars Not Just Another Sequel July 3, 2013
By CMD
Format:Paperback
I will start by saying I loved this book, it was the perfect follow up to Blood Purple. The characters are heartfelt and real, without the typical stereotypes of vampires or of good versus evil. It's a matter of belief and conviction than a battle between the dark and the light. Nikole's evolution in Blood Yellow was wonderful moving her from merely the little sister out to prove herself to a true champion with her people's welfare in mind. She is impulsive and explosive in temperament, but her motivations are pure. Zayn while not my favorite character (sorry) was so believable I wanted poor Nasir to smack or strangle him. I found that in this sibling equation, the dynamic was wonderful with the familiar tug of war between an older brother and younger sister. My favorite character was Leigh. Intelligent, cunning, and deadly, she does who is not afraid to do what she has to in order to appear strong. Blood Yellow is definitely one I would recommend to anyone who loves the genre and even those who don't. This isn't just another Sequel, it stands on it's own.

5 Star Review from Bitten By Love
Yet again, Ashley has me begging for more! In this part of the series you learn more and more about the characters as individuals as well as a pair. I have come to the conclusion that Nikole and Leigh are two sides of the same coin and that Zayn and Haydar are more similar than they realize. Now is it because of their blood ties or something else entirely? When I started reading Blood Yellow, just like Blood Purple I was hooked lined, and stuck I didn't want to look away from my computer screen or get distracted. Now as you can see, there are a bunch of questions we all would like answered, and well I wont be giving out those answers....SORRY :) looks like you'll have to go and buy this newest installment of the Blood Series BLOOD YELLOW and see for yourselves!

4.5 Star Review from Naomi @ Nomi's Paranormal Palace (Review will go live July 3rd, 2013)

The thing about reading a sequel is that you already know the characters and it is easier to get into the book, and that is how I felt about starting Blood Yellow. I met most of the characters in the first book, Blood Purple and this book flows straight on. Zayn is grieving as the two women in his life have turned their backs on him, and he is unsure how to get them back. He is confused as to what he should do and Nasir tries to get him to compose himself, but Zayn is beyond listening to anyone. Things change drastically after that and the drama begins!

Nikole decided to return to the cabin with Alec as she believes he is the man for her. They have been through so much together that she feels comfortable being around him. With the troubles at home, she soon decides to return to try and set things straight again. Alec is shrouded in mystery and Nikole struggles with finding a balance between her feelings for Alec and the duty to her people. Nikole amazes me, with all that she has been through already; she is not afraid to step up to the new challenges when needed.

Zayn began this book a little childish and I wanted to jump into it and slap him so that he would wake up to his senses!! But after a while, he started to step up and be the man and the leader he was born to be. He may be over protective, but he does that for the people that he holds closest to his heart. He is a great person and a fantastic leader to his people.

What I truly love about Ashley’s writing is how she can draw you right into the amazing world that she has produced. She has taken the Algula/Vampires and turned them into super humans. They have beating hearts, they have feelings and compassion. Being an Algula also means that they have a lot of the traits that normal Vampires do, but some of them are able to harness an element as their magic and that is what makes them unique. But they deal with a lot of the same issues that we do and I think that is why I connect to them so well.

Another feature that Ashley is incredible at is creating the Villains. They are some of the most evil people that I have ever read about; they are cold-hearted killers with only revenge on their minds. They have no respect for one another and will trample over anyone that stands in their way. I really hate them, and I have not felt that strongly about villains before! lol

Blood Yellow is a fantastic sequel, one moment things are coasting along calmly and then in the next minute, there is an emotional twist thrown in to change the direction of the story. It’s like being on an emotional merry-go-round! It has that shock factor that leaves you dazed for a few moments before quickly reading on to see what happens next, and then it happens all over again! Ashley writes descriptive bedroom scenes that had things warming up down here in Aus! And when you get to the end, you will be pulling your hair out! Argh!! You can’t end a book like that! What a cliff-hanger!! I am eagerly waiting Blood Green, I tell you!! Awesome work Ashley!

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Blood Purple Reviews

Bitten By Love Book Review - 5 Star

Other races live around us, in the world we think we know hidden from mortal perspectives. These creatures of fable, myth and legend, their very nature and history allowed them since time immemorial to walk side by side humans. They’re hunters, warriors and Algula. Vampire. Within their own midst, there is a battle brewing for dominance, supremacy, that can and will affect everyone around them. Old hatred never dies and vengeance is a fiery sword that cuts a bloody swath.

I can not wait to read the next book! Ashley is an amazing storyteller and I got chills and kept wondering what was going to happen next. I honestly have yet to read another book where you mix, royalty, vampires and a war between those who think they should be on the throne and those who hold the power. Plus considering how us humans play into their plans….and I absolutely LOVE the romance that is tied to the story. Curious about what is going on, well then pick up this book and learn for yourself.

Want a new twist on a vampire tale? Looking for something to sink your teeth into. This is the one for you. A royal family of vampires. A son destined to be king at an early age. King Zayn and Princess Nikole Kadin both headstrong and both trying to find their way in the grand scheme of things. Zayn honored bound to protect his sister. Nikole a headstrong princess with her own brand of independence a warrior in her heart and soul.

I met Ashley in a book club and what started as her telling me about this idea she had for a story about vampires. A kind of off shoot on the Midnight Breeds books. I was like you need to write this and now here it is. It will pull out into and leave you wanting to buy the next one in the series. And trust me you will.

5 Stars on Harlie's Books
Can you tell that Harlie is still on a paranormal kick? And again, these vampires don’t sparkle.  Woo Hoo!  What these vampires do is fight for each other, with each other and love each other.
Blood Purple is the first book in a completely different  spin on the whole vampire craze.  I’ll try to describe it but if I say too much, I will spoil it.  So to say, the review might be shorter than you are used to.

The world building in the beginning is crucial.  Pay attention or you could get lost in the story.  Ms. Nemer has done her research and brings a richness to the characters and to the story itself with the world that she created.  Its lush, in some ways violent but you can sense the love that the characters have for each other.  There is a lot of familial to keep up with in such a short time but Ms. Nemer explains it such a way that when you get to the present day, the goals, motivations of the characters are completely understood.  What you are left with is a powerful story about two sides of a family that are at war with each other.
Nikole and Zayn are the Princess and King of the Agula.  They are brother and sister and Zayn is overly protective of his sister.  Nasir is their surrogate father and the leader of the King’s guards.  Following an agreement, Nikole goes out on her own to fight and instead gets captured and tortured.  The torture scenes are NOT for the faint of heart.  They are brutal, realistic and violent.  They are also necessary to explain who her enemy is and who she can trust in the end.
Zayn tries and tries to find her and ends up with Nikole’s best friend.   Don’t worry, it will make sense.  When Nikole gets back to the house that she and Zayn share, she is devastated that her brother and best friend have hooked up.  The scenes between the siblings is powerful and emotional.  I have a little brother so I’m very familiar with this scenario.  It still broke my heart.

Just a couple of warnings before I sign off:  there is a HFN for one couple and a break up between another one.  There is sex in the book but its sensual, not erotic.  The last page of the book was excellent.  I like that Ms. Nemer left so much open for her next book in the series.  This is not a nice, neat story.  Its messy, complicated and emotional.  At the crux of the story is about Nikole and Zayn and how they handle their responsibilities to each other, their subjects and their legacy.
I look forward to the continuation of this series in Blood Yellow.

As an avid reader and a huge PNR junkie I knew I would be purchasing this book. It also helped that Ash has been someone I knew and therefore knew I'd get a book true to the genre but different. All that said I was not prepared to be transported to this new and fantastical place. It was a perfect blend of reality and fantasy. I got home and couldn't put it down until I finished it. LOVE THIS BOOK AND CAN'T WAIT FOR THE NEXT!!

Ashley I never doubted that it would be awesome I just had no idea that you'd sweep me up into a world that I didn't want to leave even to go to sleep.
